About this Stockholm archipelago tour

Cruise by ferry to historic maritime villages and peaceful Baltic islands — Vaxholm, Grinda, and the archipelago beyond, a short ferry from the city centre.

We start at Strandvägen, where the boats leave from, and spend the day moving between islands at an easy pace. Wooden villages, small harbours, and a lot of open water.

Bring a jacket even in summer — it is cooler on the water. Everything else, I plan around your pace.

What’s included

  • Guided day trip with a local expert
  • Ferry tickets included
  • Recommendations for lunch on the islands

Adapt this tour

Tell me how many islands you want to see. We can keep it to one village, or cover more of the archipelago. See all private tours in Stockholm.

Where we meet

We start at Strandvägen, where the ferries leave from. Your ferry tickets are included.

Which islands

Vaxholm, Grinda and Möja are some of the islands we can visit. Tell me how much you want to see. We can stay in one village for the day, or move between more islands. I recommend places for lunch on the islands.

How long it takes

A full day, 6 to 8 hours. We move between the islands at an easy pace, with time for lunch.

Languages

I guide this tour in English, German or Swedish. Tell me which language you prefer when you send your request.

Boarding and access needs

There are some boarding steps on and off the ferries. If you have mobility, sensory or other access needs, tell me before you book. Most tours can be offered with an adapted route.

When to go

Summer is the best time for the archipelago. Bring a jacket, as it is cooler on the water. I also tell you honestly when conditions are not worth the trip — the archipelago in February, for example.

Children

Children are welcome. I adapt the day, the pace and the stories to keep them interested.

Price, payment and cancellation

I do not have a fixed price list. The price depends on the number of guests, the hours and the ferry tickets. Within 24 hours, you get a route and a clear price quote. You pay by bank transfer, in cash, or online by Stripe, PayPal or credit card. Cancel more than 48 hours before the tour for a full refund of any online payment.

Other ways to the coast

Prefer to go by car? On a private day trip by car from Stockholm, we can drive the archipelago road and stop where you want.
