Zayera Tours at a Glance

Who I am, what I offer, and how to book a private tour in Stockholm.

I’m Zayera Khan. Zayera Tours is my private tour business in Stockholm, Sweden. Stockholm has been my home since 2008. Before that, I lived and worked in Zurich, Amsterdam and Lausanne.

I guide in English, German and Swedish. Every tour is private and planned around you.

Two things make my tours different. I explain everyday life in Sweden, seen by someone who moved here. And my tours are LGBTQ+ friendly — I am a former board member of Stockholm Pride.

What makes my tours different: everyday life in Sweden and LGBTQ+ friendly tours

I show you the sights. I also tell you how life in Sweden really works — the good parts and the hard parts. I see Sweden as someone who moved here, so I can explain what surprises visitors, and why.

  • Three languages. You get the tour in your own language.
  • LGBTQ+ inclusive. I am a former board member of Stockholm Pride.
  • A design background. I worked twenty years in UX strategy. I plan the pace so you finish curious, not tired.

My training

I am training to become an authorized tourist guide in Stockholm. My course at TEC ends in April 2027. Before that, I guided coach tours in Vestland, Norway.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer private tours in Stockholm in German?

Yes. German is one of my working languages. I learned it during my years in Zurich. You can plan the whole tour in German, from the first email to the last stop. See my German page about private tours in Stockholm.

Can you guide cruise passengers in Stockholm?

Yes. Tell me your ship, your port and your time ashore. I plan a route that fits your time in port. Read my guide to Stockholm’s cruise ports before you arrive.

Are your tours LGBTQ+ friendly?

Yes. I am a former board member of Stockholm Pride. You can book Stockholm’s LGBTQ+ Story, or ask for queer history in any tour. With me, you can be yourself.

Can you explain everyday life in Sweden?

Yes. Work, taxes, housing, school, food, the rules nobody tells you. I moved to Sweden, so I know which questions visitors have. Ask me anything.

How much does a private tour cost?

The price depends on the number of guests, the number of hours and add-ons. Send me your plan, and I reply within 24 hours with a price quote.

How many people can join a private tour?

Up to 8 guests on walking tours. Up to 3 guests by car. Up to 9 guests by minivan, at extra cost.

Can I bring children?

Yes. I adapt the route, the pace and the stories to children.

Can you adapt the tour for mobility needs?

Often, yes. Tell me what you need. I can avoid stairs, cobblestones and long walks. A car tour is another option.

Do your tours run in winter?

Yes, all year. I tell you honestly when a trip is not worth it in bad weather.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel more than 48 hours before the tour for a full refund of your online payment.

Are you an authorized Stockholm guide?

Not yet. I am training to become an authorized tourist guide. My course ends in April 2027.
